President Biden backs up Israel in the ongoing conflict with Hamas by promising military and political support. This is not the first time that the US administration lent a hand to the Israeli government, as Israel is one of the main financial beneficiaries of the US. They received billions in military support throughout the years, barring the aid to come due to the Gaza crisis.
Israel-US relations allowed the state to drive off hostility from neighboring countries. On the other hand, the US’ closeness with Israel gives them a level of control over the Middle East.
