It has been 50 years since the iconic “Rocky” hit the big screen, and, of course, Philadelphia had to celebrate the milestone.

For four nights, the Philadelphia Visitor Center, in partnership with HarperCollins’ William Morrow and Philadelphia creative studio Klip Collective, will illuminate the Rocky steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Rocky” and Sylvester Stallone’s new memoir, “The Steps.”

The light projection installation went live on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and will run through Saturday, Oct. 3. The lights go up at approximately 7:30 p.m. (sunset dependent) and run until 10 p.m.

Officials said the dynamic nighttime light show brings the iconic steps to life in a way “they’ve never been seen before.”

The custom light installation also serves as the opening spectacle for Rocky Season, a citywide, months-long celebration organized by the Philadelphia Visitor Center and the Rocky Season Committee. The celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Academy Award Best Picture winner Rocky.

Rocky Season runs from Sept. 29 through Dec. 3.
